"Hi Abe, 

I gotta say, when I was contemplating if the Vortex Focus was for me, I had two main concerns.  One, I was concerned the playing area wouldn’t be bright enough and two, I was concerned that it wouldn’t make a noticeable difference in glare.  I just wanted to let you know that neither concern was necessary,  I love this thing.  In fact, now that I’ve had it installed for a couple of months, I don’t think I could keep the Perimeter light without it.

When I first got my Diamond, it came with the Diamond light and honestly, it worked pretty well, it was just ugly.  My wife wasn’t thrilled about having a “coffin” (as she called it) hanging from our ceiling, lol. 

We both thought the Perimeter light was super nice looking, so it was an easy buy.  The Perimeter light made my entire game room (20x24) super bright, in fact, we have it as the only light source in the entire room. 

Our only issue was, it was like an operating room.  It was fine while playing pool.. it was nice and bright and easy to see the balls, but when I wasn’t actually under the light playing, the glare and ambiance was harsh,  it was really noticable while spectating and worse when we weren’t playing pool and just watching a movie or using the room to entertain.   I just figured it was a necessary trade off of having a perimeter light.

Then came the Focus.  Now, under the table,  it’s plenty bright, but when you’re not underneath the playing area, it’s significantly subdued and easier on the eyes.. and as a bonus, there’s still enough light to light up the entire room, but it looks normal now (no longer an operating room, lol).
